frequently asked questions

  • Your website is your No. 1 sales tool — it needs to be selling your value and services for you while you go on vacation or take maternity leave. If it’s not (and if clients aren’t even mentioning how awesome your site is when they contact you), it’s time to update your website.

And that’s where hiring a professional copywriter comes in handy.

You’re investing some money but virtually no time in creating an artistic, strategic website that reflects your personality, competitive advantages, and sells your services for you. It’s an investment that can often be recouped with just one client sale and will pay for itself dozens of times over.

  • We don’t say this lightly, because it can definitely come across as cocky… but we’re legit, y’all. Writing is our gift. Strategy is our gift. Our CEO, Taylor de la Fuente, started doing this in high school and never looked back. If you’d like the highlights of her resume, here they are:

    • She has a bachelor’s from the University of Maryland Philip Merrill College of Journalism

    • She worked as a newspaper reporter for several years (and won several awards for it from the state press association)

    • She worked in digital marketing running the copywriting department at an SEO agency

    • She worked as the lead copywriter doing in-house marketing for an energy company

    • She turned her freelancing hobby into her own business at the start of 2019.

If all of that isn’t enough for ya, we highly recommend reading through our portfolio here and checking out our approach here.

  • Yes, absolutely. We allow for unlimited edits within the project term. That means web copy clients have up to a week for edits, and day rate clients have up to a day for edits.

  • We use Google Docs for our writing projects because it’s easy to collaborate. Once we send you your Google Doc, you can type directly in the document to make changes, or you can highlight a section of text and leave a comment on it.

If you’d prefer to talk through edits, you can also schedule a phone call with us. The link for that is provided in your welcome guide.

  • We’re so glad you asked! We care about a wide range of social justice movements that will make our world more diverse, equitable, and inclusive.

To further this goal, we regularly educate ourselves on DEI topics and teach what we know to others. We hire a diverse array of small businesses owned by women, LGBTQ+ people, and people of color. And we create change through our writing by supporting clients who want to break the mold and build an industry that is more feminist, gender-affirming, LGBTQ+-affirming, anti-racist, accessible, size-inclusive, and sustainable.

We also value truth, independence, and creativity.

  • Our headquarters are in Dallas, TX, USA, but don’t let that stop you from inquiring — we write for creatives everywhere.

Please note that because of our location, all of our office hours are in Central Time.

  • One of our fantastic professional writers! The Bigmouth Copy team is led by CEO Taylor de la Fuente. She has personally vetted and trained everyone on our staff.

  • There are a few things that go into our pricing:

    • The years of education and expense we've put into becoming professional, experienced, award-winning writers who understand how to grow your business using words.

    • The years we've put into becoming specialized copywriters who are true experts in the wedding industry and other creative spaces.

    • The timeline of our service. Most copywriters take 4 - 6 weeks to write a website, while we only take two. That means you’re only waiting two weeks (or just a day if you go with a Day Rate) to get new business knocking on your door.

  • Yes, we do! Our invoice default is to pay via three-month payment plan.

  • The only additional fee you may encounter working with Bigmouth Copy is a late fee for payments made outside of our contract terms, or a rescheduling fee if you choose to change the date of your project.
